Restoran SS2 Murni

A convenient day for a dinner outing for our group after college, we decided to head on down to the popular mamak 'Murni' in SS2.

This restaurant is popular for it's delicious menu that offers a variety food, from Chinese to Western cuisines, besides the usual mamak food that others serves.

Thirst quenchers
Some of their drinks have really quirky names such as I Love You, I Kiss You, Be Happy, and Don't Worry. We ordered ourselves a I Love You (Soda + Ribena + Lemon + Longan), I Miss You (Passion Fruit + Soda + Lemon + Jelly) which is their recommended and other drinks.

Served in not only an attractive appearance with the colored layers, they taste just as good. Each glass comes in a fair price of RM5~6.

"Trademark" of Murni- Dragon Pizza. The shape and appearance is totally different compared to a normal pizza but, if you had noticed, the shape and the size of it looks like the back of a dragon. It's probably why it's dubbed as the Dragon Pizza.

Looking into the 'stomach' of the Dragon Pizza, it is filled with some omelet, pieces of sausages, mushrooms and fried minced chicken. As you can see, the filling of the Dragon Pizza is disappointingly little but, it is tasty. Besides the filling, the 'skin' of the Dragon Pizza tastes like a normal "roti naan". It's skin is actually made with the dough of "roti naan" and the filling is wrapped by it. Despite the lack of stuffing, it is actually quite filling.

The price for Dragon Pizza is RM 12.50 nett. It's quite expensive but for it's ability to fill you, it may be worth it.

Next up is Chicken Napoleon. Another trademark "must try" of Murni. With a piece of deep fried chicken exterior wrapped around ham, sausage and cheese served with a bonus of fries and coleslaw and a separated serving of black pepper sauce, the presentation was mouth-watering.

A heads up to eating this dish, there are toothpicks embedded in it to hold it together. You may miss it out if you're not careful, especially when sitting out at night. It can bit of a hassle having to pull them out before savoring it.

I thought that the balance of taste was tilted off as the taste of cheese overwhelmed the rest. The price is RM12 which, I felt it was a little overpriced as the dish did not meet my expectations.

The last dish we tasted was Roti Hawaii. Also, a recommended dish by the restaurant which, interestingly enough is another stuffed dish. The taste for this was simple delightful.

Roti Hawaii is stuffed with a choices of  either minced chicken or beef, eggs, cheese, sausages and pineapples, presented with a spider web mayonnaise dressing. It will be served with choice of 3 types of sauces: curry, dahl and chilli sauce.

The price of Roti Hawaii is considered affordable at about RM5~6.

Atmosphere of the restaurant, just like another other mamak restaurants, is noisy however comforting filled with the friendly Malaysian essence.
Getting the attention of the servers may be a bit frustrating especially when sitting outside and away of the restaurant though they are well-mannered when to attending you.
